Denis Sassou-Nguesso invites Kazakhstan to invest in Congo’s oil sector

President of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso invited Kazakhstan to cooperate in oil sector. He said it at the meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the Akorda Palace today, Kazinform News Agency reports.

He said that Congo’s economy, like Kazakhstan’s, is based on oil sector.

“Kazakhstan has a rich experience in this sphere and can benefit Congo by investing in its operators,” said the Congolese President.

He highlighted that his country is also rich in other resources as well as deposits which have not been fully developed ye. The point at issue is the phosphate, potassium fields  near the Port of Pointe-Noire.

“With the significant reserves of gas, phosphate and potassium carbonate, Congo can consider the opportunity of producing fertilizers for increasing agricultural yield," Denis Sassou-Nguesso said and enumerated a number of factors, contributing to the intensification of agriculture, such as presence of vast croplands, young workforce, soil fertility, adequate level of sunlight and precipitation.
