Defence Ministers of Kazakhstan and Britain discuss military coop perspectives
ASTANA. October 31. KAZINFORM – Yesterday the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan Adylbek Dzhaksybekov arrived in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with an official visit.
Today the Kazakh Defence Minister Adylbek Dzhaksybekov hold bilateral meeting with the head of the UK Defence Ministry Philip Hammond.
Tomorrow, Dzhaksybekov will have a round table with the military leadership of the United Kingdom.
During the meeting the parties discussed the current state and prospects of further development of the Kazakh-British military and military-technical cooperation.
Adylbek Dzhaksybekov and Philip Hammond talked about the joint command - staff exercises of peacekeeping troops of the two countries as well as further bilateral collaboration in the field of military science.
Today the Kazakh army is in the process of transition to professional army and Britain has a lot of experience in that matter. Kazakhstan is interested in the study of methods of recruitment into the armed forces, conduct of personnel policy, organization of training, specifics of budget planning and social welfare.
In London, the Kazakh military delegation visited the UK Trade and Investment Defence and Security Organisation (UKTI DSO) and one of the largest companies in the world in the production of satellite communications - InMarSat. As the developer and creator of global satellite communications, InMarSat operates its own fourth-generation geostationary satellites.
In the office of UKTI DSO the British side briefed the three companies of military industrial complex: multinational defense technology company QinetiQ; the leader of aerospace industry - Cobham company and the most experienced in the world manufacturer of crossover utility vehicles for armed forces - Land Rover company.
Adylbek Jaksybekov invited the British defense companies to take part in the international exhibition of arms and military equipment called ''KADEX-2014" which will be held in Astana in May 2014.
