Death toll of train-bus collision in Ukraine reaches 41
KIEV. October 12. KAZINFORM The death toll of the Tuesday train-bus collision in Ukraine's Dnepropetrovsk region has gone up to 41, the country's emergencies ministry reported, citing the latest data. Among those killed are two children; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's traffic police said three children had been killed in the accident, the Korrespondent.net news agency reported, saying there were no reports on how many children had been injured.
As many as 41 people were killed and 10 more hospitalised in grave condition after a passenger bus ran into a yard locomotive at an unregulated railway crossing near the town of Marganets early on Tuesday. The State Railway Transport Administration put the blame for the accident on the bus driver, who had ignored red traffic lights and ran into the railway crossing when the train was nearing.
The bus driver, who had a 36-years' driving experience, died in the accident.
