Death toll of A/H1N1 rises to eight in Michigan

HOUSTON. July 10. KAZINFORM Michigan health officials said on Thursday that a 50-year-old man had died of the A/H1N1 flu in Oakland County as the eighth victim of the virus in the state; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

The man died "earlier this week" after spending three weeks in a hospital in the county, said Kathy Forzley, manager of the Oakland County Health Division.

Forzley declined to release any details about the man other than to say "he did have underlying health conditions" like asthma, obesity or diabetes.

In Michigan, 655 confirmed and probable cases of the A/H1N1 flu had been found by June 13 and seven deaths had been reported by June 25, according to the figures released by the Michigan Department of Community Health; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
