Death toll in Ukraine mine gas blast rises to six

DONETSK. June 9. KAZINFORM The death toll in the gas explosion at the Skochinsky coalmine in Ukraine?s Donetsk region on Monday rose to six, the state rescue service of the Coal Industry Ministry said on Tuesday. Six others remain missing; Kazinform refers to ITAR-TASS.
The explosion took place at 11:26 Moscow time sending rocks and a mix of gas and coal spewing into the mine. There were 53 miners underground at the moment of the blast. Thirty-nine made it to the surface. Three miners were found dead and another two were heavily injured and hospitalised; Kazinform cites ITAR-TASS.
