Death toll from Bulgaria bus crash rises to 16

SOFIA. May 28. KAZINFORM The death toll from a serious road accident near Yambol in southern Bulgaria on Thursday morning has risen to 16, including 10 women and a 16-year-old boy, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry announced, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
There are also 20 people injured, with four people at the peril of their lives.
Around 9:00 a.m. local time (0700 GMT), a technically unfit bus crushed into a group of people on the road to Bakadzhik peak on its way back to Yambol, after discharging passengers at a mountain cabin.
According to reports from local media, the bus could not stop on the way down from the Bakadzhik peak, and hit people climbing up to the peak.
After preliminary investigation, local police said a technical malfunction caused failure of the bus's brakes, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.chinaview.cn for full version.
