DBK to finance the 4G network expansion project in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - JSC "Kazakhstan Development Bank" launched a line of credit for implementation of the project to expand the network of mobile broadband Internet access 4G worth 104.9 billion tenge, according to a financial institution.

"JSC "Development Bank of Kazakhstan" opened a credit line to implement the project of the JSC "ALTEL" to expand mobile broadband Internet 4G. The project cost is 104.9 billion tenge, the DBK provides about 35% of the necessary funding for up to 10 years, loan currency is tenge, " the report says.

This is the first project funded by the Development Bank at the expense of the National Fund, according to the website of the Prime Minister.

Start-up and development of 4G network is planned in all cities and towns of Kazakhstan. The project will be implemented in two phases. The first, until 2018, it is planned to launch a new generation of wireless communications in all major cities and towns with population of 50 thousand people. The second, untill 2022, it is planned to provide networks LTE / GSM / UMTS and introduce LTE networks in all localities of the countries.

According to the DBK, the project will increase the speed of data transmission on the Internet up to 100 Mbit/s, will introduce e-learning in higher and secondary educational institutions. There will also be an opportunity to view the streaming video with high resolution.
