Dad dies, girl, 10, survives house fire in northern Kazakhstan

ASTANA. August 22. KAZINFORM A fire broke out at a single-family house in Petropavlovsk at 3:00 a.m. tonight, the Ministry for Emergency Situations says.
The fire that engulfed the house covered an area of 81 square meters, but was contained in an hour and extinguished by 7 a.m. by local firefighters.
The firemen discovered a 35-year-old man's body in the debris. A 10-year-old girl was hospitalized with thermal burns from the scene.
