Customs Union presented at World Customs Organization's headquarter

BRUSSELS. January 26. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ A presentation devoted to the establishment of the Customs Union between Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan was held yesterday in the World Customs Organization's headquarter. Secretary General of the WCO Kunia Mikuriya and Secretary General of the EurAsEC Tair Mansurov opened the presentation.

Diplomatic corps accredited in Belgium, representatives of the European Commission. Business community of the EU, Belgium and international organizations took part in the event.

Information of conditions of the formation of the Customs Union, removal of customs and other administrative barriers in mutual trade, the Customs Code, single customs tariff, prospects for its economic growth was presented and discussed at the session.

Chairman of the Kazakh Customs Committee of the Ministry of Finance K-K.Karbuzov being the head of the experts group that developed the Customs Code of the Customs Union told about the formation of the Customs Legislation of the Union. The WCO Secretary General noted that the customs service of Kazakhstan was one of the first that set about realization of the Single Window Concept of the WCO, provided coordination of the activities between the interested state bodies.

Issues of the establishment of EurAsEC anti-crisis fund, prospects for cooperation of the Eurasian Bank with world financial institutions, creation of single conditions for transit at the territory of the Customs Union, customs clearing and customs control, etc. were of special interest for the participants of the session.

Reporters noted that the experience of the European Union in formation of corresponding executive authorities, WCO experience in resolution of technical issues and establishment of the customs service of the Customs Union meeting the word standards are of special importance for the newly established organization.
