Customs Union increased duties on pipe layers

ASTANA. August 16. KAZINFORM - Customs Union increased import duties on pipe layers from 5% to 10% of the customs value. The decision was taken by the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, BelTA informs.
The solution relates to the pipe layers with the capacity of less than 90 tonnes, including the northern version.
"This decision is aimed at supporting manufacturers of road construction equipment in the face of rising imports, said Andrei Slepnev, Minister for Trade of European Economic Commission. - The volume of pipe layers' import in 2012 grew by 16,5%, in January-March 2013 at 80, 9% compared to the same period of 2012".
The decision will enter into force in 30 days from the date of its official publication.
