Customs Union establishment to expand trade, make Kazakhstan's economy more competitive
ATY. April 27. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ Regional agreements open both new opportunities and new challenges. Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of Kazakhstan Bektas Mukhamedzhanov said it at a roundtable devoted to the Customs Union in Almaty today.
According to him, new forms of cooperation represent new opportunities, while the challenge is to prevent discrimination against states - non-members of the regional unions. In such circumstances our country should actively use regional cooperation as an opportunity to promote export of Kazakh goods and services to foreign markets. This will stimulate the development of production and exports of goods and services with high added value. First of all, this line should be developed upon the border states of Kazakhstan.
Thus, the creation of the Customs Union allows to decrease trade barriers, particularly in the states - partners of Kazakhstan, expand trade and make the country's economy more competitive. The Customs Union will also enable to benefit a lot from the participation in foreign trade and reduce the associated risk.
