Three types of tariffs namely domestic, export-import and transit tariffs are in force in Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan. "Each is calculated differently, their sizes vary. At the same time in the single economic space, tariffs should be uniform. Once we come to this, the cost of transportation will increase in some of the countries, but at the same time tariffs for export of products will decrease," said Vladimir Balakhonov.

As reported earlier, by 1 January 2013 the Customs Union will unify tariffs by type of destination: export, import, domestic. This will mean the countries will impose the tariff for transportation regardless of the type of cargo. After 1 January 2013 exclusive tariffs shall be set by agreement with the Customs Union Commission.
