CSTO Military Committee to discuss integration in defense, politics

MOSCOW,. June 21. KAZINFORM The second session of the Military Committee of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be held in Moscow on 25 June. Taking part in the session will be chiefs of general staffs of the armed forces of the CSTO member states and CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha, Spokesman for the CSTO Vladimir Zainetdinov said.

The parties will analyze the current situation, security challenges and threats in the collective responsibility region, ways to promote CSTO integration in defense and politics that was earlier discussed at the sessions of the CSTO charter bodies and the informal summit of the heads of state of the CSTO member states in Bishkek on 27-28 May 2013.

Members of the Military Committee will discuss the fulfillment of the major military cooperation targets of the CSTO member states for the period until 2020, creation and improvement of the single (unified) air defense systems in the collective security region and the integration of these air defense systems into a single (unified) air defense system of the CSTO. The experts will also discuss procedures of inspecting collective security forces and facilities as part of the action plan of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers for 2013.
