CSTO foreign ministers to meet in Moscow 3 April

MOSCOW. KAZINFORM - The Foreign Ministers Council of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will take place in Moscow on 3 April. The meeting will be chaired by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, BelTA learnt from CSTO Spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov.

Attending the meeting will be CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha who will present the report on the situation in the CSTO zone and contiguous regions.

The foreign ministers will discuss the issues of improving foreign political coordination in the CSTO and the CSTO activity in the development of cooperation in the information field, with institutes of the civil society and youth, Kazinform refers to BelTA.

It is expected that the CSTO foreign ministers will adopt a joint statement on Afghanistan in view of the forthcoming elections of the IRA president. The Council is also set to sign a plan of consultations of CSTO representatives on the issues of foreign policy, security and defense for H2 2014 - H1 2015.
