CSTO Foreign Ministers supported Kazakhstan's initiative on calling OSCE Summit in 2010
MOSCOW. March 26. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ The CSTO Foreign Ministers supported the initiative of Kazakhstan on calling of the OSCE Summit in Astana in 2010. It was stated in the Declaration adopted yesterday in Moscow at the informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the CSTO member states.
"We compliment the dynamic start of the Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship. We support the Republic of Kazakhstan in its efforts on strengthening the role of the OSCE as a form of equal political dialogue and promotion of the contribution of the Organization to the European security and cooperation", the document writes.
"We acclaim the efforts of the Kazakhstan's chairmanship aimed at balanced development of the three dimensions of the OSCE in order to adept its activity to modern challenges and security threats and its evolution on the basic principals of the Helsinki Final Act and generally recognized norms of international law preserving the inviolability of the principle of consensus as the basis of the OSCE functioning.
We support the initiative of Kazakhstan on holding the OSCE Summit in 2010. We declare readiness to render necessary assistance and support to the Kazakh chairmanship in realization of the convocation of such summit and organization of other activities on the issues meeting our priorities", the Declaration states.
