Crucial to find ways to further modernize law enforcement system - Nazarbayev
ASTANA. January 30. KAZINFORM At today's meeting with heads of law enforcement bodies of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the need to determine ways to further modernize the law enforcement system.
"Stability and national security are the key provisions for the implementation of the new political course. Their priority is beyond all question. Today it is important to sum up the interim results of the comprehensive reform of the law enforcement system. It is needed to critically assess the progress, identify problems and find ways to further modernize the law enforcement system," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
As the press service of the President of Kazakhstan reported, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the tasks on improving efficiency of the judicial and law enforcement systems, modernizing courts, prosecutors, the judiciary and internal affairs bodies, financial police and special services are addressed simultaneously with increasing the level of legal awareness of the population.
The functions, structure and number of all law enforcement agencies have been optimized. The major re-certification of more than 100 thousand law enforcement officers has been completed. Qualitative changes are taking place in the judicial system as well.
