Criminal groups' activity undermines state's authority, OSCE Almaty seminar
ALMATY. July 14. KAZINFORM /Serik Koibagarov/ - Today a two-day regional seminar "Confiscation and Recovery of Illegal Income" has kicked off today in Almaty. The seminar has been organized by the OSCE Center in Almaty in partnership with the OSCE department of strategic police activity, OSCE Department for economic and environmental affairs, the World Bank and the UN Drugs and Crime Department.
About 30 law enforcement experts of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia and Uzbekistan are participating in the seminar to discuss the issues of criminal justice in the sphere of confiscation and retrieval of illegal income and strengthening of the transborder cooperation in this sphere.
Chief of the OSCE Military Political Department, acting director of the Department of Economy and Environment in Astana Andrew Offencbaher expressed hope that the seminar will prove to be effective and successful. As he said the activity of criminal groups undermines the authority of the state and causes people's discredit to the law enforcement bodies and may also infirm good neighborhood relations between. «It is not accidental that we are holding this seminar today. The purpose of our organization is to ensure comprehensive security, stability and cooperation of the OSCE member countries», - he said.
