Council of KazEnergy Association holds 10th session in Almaty
ALMATY. June 2. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ Head of KazEnergy Association Timur Kulibayev has chaired the 10th session of the Council of the Association today in Almaty.
The participants heard a report on execution of instructions of the previous sessions in 2006-2010. It was noted that over these years there were signed memorandums of cooperation and mutual understanding with many ministers and departments of the country, and oblasts' akimats (administrations). Today KazEnergy Association is a member of authoritative international organizations.
Secretary of the Interdepartmental Committee on Development of the Oil and Gas and Energy Industry, Kazakh Vice Minister of Oil and Gas Asset Magauov reported on its work. According to him, the Interdepartmental Committee is a consultative advisory body under the Kazakh Government. Over the report period there were carried out four sessions and were considered 20 issues.
Minister of Environmental Protection Nurgali Ashimov informed that within the framework of the Kyoto Protocol USD 1.3 bln was invested in Kazakhstan from the Global Technologies Fund. They will be disbursed on in four directions - renewable energy sources development, gas-distributing systems development, gas flaring reduction, district heating systems modernization and energy resources financing.
Members of the Association Council considered the issues of attraction and preparation of the domestic specialists for work in the gas and oil field. The heads of Tengizchevroil, Shell, Total S.A. delivered reports on this topic.
