Cooperation with EBDR has constructive character: N.Nazarbayev
ALMATY. June 4. KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ Cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has always had and has a constructive character. Kazakh Head of the State N.Nazarbayev has made it public today at the 23rd plenary session of the Foreign Investors Council.
Chairman of the session, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that about USD 2 bln was invested to the Kazakh economy by the Bank. "We appreciate your recommendations as well", the President said.
According to President of the EBDR Thomas Mirow, qualified human resources are one of the priorities of any society. As he said, education promotes economic development and this is more important during the period of overcoming of the world financial crisis .
The Head of the Bank highly appraised the role of "Bolashak" Educational Program recognizing it as a good initiative and complimenting this work. "Education expenditures in Kazakhstan stably remain at the level of 3% of the GDP. We offer Kazakhstan to take part in the OSCE Program for International Student Assessment (PISA)", T.Mirow said.
