HKEK. October 29. KAZINFORM /Arnur Rakhymbekov/ The acute political crisis in Kyrgyzstan fell on the period of Kazakhstan's presidency in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. in settling the situation in the brotherly country. Leader of Kyrgyz "Ar-Namys" Party, outstanding Kyrgyz politician Felix Kulov told a Kazinform correspondent about the situation in the country and the political plans of the Party which, according to the preliminary results, took the third place in the parliamentary elections.

Mr. Kulov, how do you appraise the role and contribution of Kazakhstan as the OSCE chairing country to the settlement of the political situation in Kyrgyzstan in April this year?

Firstly, I would like to say that Kazakhstan in that situation acted as not only the OSCE chairman and performed the formal functions on regulation of the situation, but also as a brotherly nation.

Kazakhstan played a double role and made much more than another OSCE chairman could do.

From the first days different missions aimed at rendering maximum assistance in regulating the situation were launched. Meetings of all leaders of Kyrgyz political parties with public figures as well as a range of workshops were held. The Republic of Kazakhstan carried out an extensive work on maximum involvement of the public potential. In this regard, the contribution of Kazakhstan is invaluable.

What is your vision of the prospects of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan?

The relations of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan were developing intensively due to friendly attitude of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. I have known Mr. Nazarbayev for 20 years now and he always supported any of our initiatives, tried to help, respected our position, took into consideration the ideas of the Kyrgyz Government.

In this regard, the prospects of our further relations are great. The only our problem is that we are not a member of the Customs Union. But even in this situation we manage to find ways to solve problems.

What are the plans of "Ar-Namys" Party upon the results of the parliamentary elections?

We offer a broad party coalition in order to establish a government of national unity or so-called "government of national trusts". This Government should include eleven parties. In my opinion, these parties united under the title of the national unity government should nominate and elect the Prime Minister themselves.

As long as from 8 to 11 parties make about 11% of the electorate we will provide a broad representation of our population in the parliament.

Thank your for the commentaries.
