Consultations on Kazakhstan's accession to WTO held in Washington
ASTANA. September 13. KAZINFORM The Kazakh delegation headed by Vice Minister of Economic Development and Trade Timur Suleimenov has visited Washington for participation in bilateral negotiations on Kazakhstan's accession to the World Trade Organization.
The press service of the Kazakh Embassy in the USA informed of it.
This visit which was held on September 7-10 was considered by the Americans as practical implementation of agreements between presidents of Kazakhstan and the USA N.Nazarbayev and Barack Obama which were reached on April 11, when the two leaders agreed to redouble efforts on completion of the negotiation process on Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO.
Within the negotiations there was considered a number of issues including trade in agricultural products, regulation of activity of enterprises which are under state control.
The American side positively noted the Kazakh approach for formation of the national legislative framework and its conformity with the WTO positions.
The sides discussed the issues connected with adoption of the new trade-economic regime within the framework of the Customs Union between Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus and its influence on the negotiation process on Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO.
The consultations confirmed striving of the two parties for speedy completion of bilateral negotiations on a mutually advantageous basis.
