Communications blackout caused panic in Atyrau tonight

ATYRAU. October 25. KAZINFORM Major blackout left half of Atyrau population without telephone communications, Internet access and cable television tonight.
For some unknown reasons the telecommunication cables under the bridge over the Ural River burnt out leaving people in panic.
At the moment the authorities are doing their best to fix the problem. The repair and restoration works are in the process. It is still unclear what caused the burn-up of the telecommunication cables.
