Common transit space of Customs Union, European Union feasible
MOSCOW. October 31. KAZINFORM The capability is available for creating a common transit space of the Customs Union and the European Union. The statement was made by Minister for Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Vladimir Goshin at the Belarusian Economy Day in Berlin. The Belarusian Economy Day was organized by business circles and government agencies of Belarus and Germany, representatives of the Minister's office told BelTA.
"Today we have the capability to create a common transit space virtually throughout the entire territory from Lisbon to Vladivostok. Common or similar regulations may virtually negate the difficulties involved in crossing the border between the European Union and the Customs Union," said Vladimir Goshin.
The Minister's speech at the event was dedicated to efforts to improve the customs legislation of the Customs Union. The customs division of the Eurasian Economic Commission is in charge of this work. In particular, the Minister for Customs Cooperation dwelled on the introduction of one-stop procedures in the Customs Union and on the codification of customs legislation, BelTA reports.
Vladimir Goshin drew attention to the measures taken to facilitate the transportation of merchandise across the Customs Union border and inside the Customs Union. In his opinion, tighter cooperation with European partners seems most promising in this regard.
