Committee of Tourism Industry of Kazakhstan warns tourists against H5N1
ASTANA. January 15. KAZINFORM - Committee of Tourism Industry (CTI) of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MINT) of Kazakhstan has recommended tour operators and travel agents inform tourists about the growth of disease caused by influenza A virus (H5N1), the press service of the Ministry informs.
"According to international news agencies in Vietnam, Indonesia, Egypt, Cambodia and China has increased the number of diseases caused by avian influenza. In this regard, CTI MINT RK recommends tour operators and travel agents to inform tourists intending to visit the mentioned countries about necessary precautions and personal hygiene", the statement reads. CTI recommends avoiding contact with poultry in households, markets and surface water. It is not recommended to buy poultry meat and eggs in places of unauthorized trading.
"It is advisable to drink bottled or boiled water and maintain strict personal hygiene (especially when dealing with raw meat products)", the Committee informs.
