Commission on Human Rights under Kazakh President holds enlarged session in Astana
ASTANA. February 22. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ The Commission on Human Rights under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan has held an enlarged session under the chairmanship of Saginbek Tursunov in the Ukimet Uiy.
Those attending debated the issues of ensuring the civil amenity rights as well as prisoners' rights guaranteed by the existing legislation of Kazakhstan and international obligations in the sphere of human rights.
Representatives of the legislative, executive and judicial branches of the government, well-known legal scholars, representatives of international non-governmental organizations, mass media took part in the session.
Following the results of the discussions there were summed up the results of activity of the Commission on Human Rights over the last year and were outlined plans for 2011.
