Cluster of hyperscale data centers set to be launched in Kazakhstan
The Ministry of Energy, together with the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, has signed memorandums of cooperation with Ample Solutions Limited and Dominor Partners Ltd, Qazinform News Agency reports.
According to the press service of the Kazakh Energy Ministry, the memorandums provide for the implementation of projects to create hyperscale data centers within the country, including the formation of a specialized cluster of digital and energy capacities.
Under the agreements reached, the sides will cooperate on the development of supporting energy infrastructure, including the construction of power generation facilities using various energy sources such as gas, coal, and renewable energy sources (RES) to ensure a stable power supply for the data centers.
Particular attention will be paid to the localization of equipment and technology production, which will help increase technological independence and create additional opportunities for the development of the country’s industrial potential.
The signed documents also envisage the exchange of experience and technologies, workforce development, and joint work on projects in digital and energy infrastructure, including the “Industrial & Digital Energy Hub” initiative.
The implementation of these projects is expected to attract investment, advance the digital economy, create new jobs, and strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a regional technological and energy hub.
Earlier, Qazinform reported the first facilities in Kazakhstan’s data center valley are expected to be launched in early 2027.
