CIS to discuss agenda of CIS Council of Heads of State in Minsk

MINSK. June 9. KAZINFORM A session of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the States-Participants of the Commonwealth under Charter and Other Bodies of the Commonwealth will be held at the CIS headquarters in Minsk on 11 June, BelTA learnt from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

Taking part in the session will be Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev. The permanent representatives will work out the agenda of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and the CIS Council of Heads of State. The sessions of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and the CIS Council of Heads of State are to be held in the Belarusian capital city in October. "There are plans to study cooperation documents related to the fight against terrorism, crime, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and cybercrime, as well as cooperation documents in culture, tourism, emergency prevention and response. The Minsk summit will announce the state that will assume the CIS presidency in 2014," the press service informed.

The permanent representatives are to hear out a report on the work of the CIS Healthcare Cooperation Council, BelTA reports.

The permanent representatives will review the results of the session of the CIS Council of Heads of Government that was held in Minsk on 31 May and discuss efforts to implement the documents passed at the session. The press service of the CIS Executive Committee reminded that the heads of government adopted 32 documents, including a protocol on the implementation of the free trade zone agreement between its signatories and Uzbekistan, a list of pilot interstate innovative projects as part of the interstate innovative cooperation program that is set to run until 2020, an agreement to coordinate interstate relations in using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and other documents.
