CIS plenipotentiaries to meet in Minsk 27 September

MINSK. September 23. KAZINFORM The CIS plenipotentiary representatives in the CIS main bodies are set to meet in Minsk on 27 September to take stock of the meetings of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and the CIS Council of Heads of State in Dushanbe on 2-3 September. They are also expected to discuss the ways to implement the documents adopted at these two summits, BelTA learnt from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

According to the committee, the foreign ministers adopted 19 documents including a statement on mutually complementary and mutual beneficial integration. The statement stresses the CIS readiness to develop all-round cooperation and contacts with the European Union and other integration associations. Besides, the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers approved 14 draft documents for submission to the heads of state and government.

The CIS heads of state endorsed 12 documents, with the statement on the 20th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the analysis report "CIS accomplishments over the 20 years and future tasks" among the key ones. The Council of Heads of State approved the CIS cooperation program against illegal migration for 2012-2014, signed an agreement on the organization of the CIS aircraft alert forces in case the information on hijacking is received and an agreement to memorialize the courage and heroism the CIS member nations demonstrated during the Great Patriotic War; Kazinform cites BelTA.
