"It is time to set up a specialized institution, a specialized court. The EurAsEC Court deals with its own matters, its own functions. We do not compete," said Lyudmila Kamenkova. She added that both courts contact each other and share the best practices.

"The more professionals in the Commonwealth space there are, the more government agencies and citizens will benefit from it," stressed Lyudmila Kamenkova, according to BelTA.

The EurAsEC Court started operating on 1 January 2012 and is located in Minsk. Its functions had been fulfilled by the CIS Economic Court earlier. In particular, the CIS Economic Court had dealt with the dispute between the governments of Belarus and Russia over duties on oil products. Lyudmila Kamenkova reminded that the court had enabled the possibility to settle the dispute between the states at the bilateral level.
