CIS Defence Ministers' Council meets in Moscow
MOSCOW. April 15. KAZINFORM The CIS Defence Ministers' Council had a meeting in Moscow on Wednesday. Russia's Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov chaired the event. Kyrgyzstan was represented by the country's permanent representative at the Collective Security Treaty Organisation's headquarters in Moscow; Kazinform refers to ITAR-TASS.
"It was a correct decision to organise the Council of Defence Ministers, and it is an effective instrument in maintaining security," Serdyukov said at the opening of the meeting, in which ministers and their deputies from the ten member-countries took part. "The threat of new conflicts has not faded away, and there still remain threats to security of the CIS counties."
"The future of our cooperation depends on how we implement our decisions," he said; Kazinform cites ITAR-TASS.
