China vows to boost progress in ties with Kazakhstan
BEIJING. September 7. KAZINFORM China said on Tuesday it hopes to further enhance strategic mutual trust with Kazakhstan and boost progress of bilateral relations.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu made the remarks at a press briefing while referring to the upcoming China visit of Kazak Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov.
The Foreign Ministry announced earlier that Kazykhanov will pay an official visit to China from Sept.7-9 at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.
The two foreign ministers will exchange views on further enhancing China-Kazakhstan relations as well as international and regional issues of common concern, Jiang said.
Chinese leaders will also meet with Kazykhanov, who is making his first visit to China since taking office in April, she added.
China-Kazakhstan relations have entered a new era of development, and face important opportunities, Jiang said.
China is willing to expand practical cooperation in various fields, which it hopes will continue the positive progression of bilateral relations, Jiang said.
Calling the two countries good neighbors, comprehensive strategic partners and member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Jiang said China-Kazakhstan relations have witnessed healthy and stable growth since the establishment of diplomatic relations nearly 20 years ago.
According to Xinhua, both countries support each other on issues concerning their major interests and continue to carry out remarkable cooperation in various fields, Jiang added.
