China to help Kyrgyzstan carrying out SCO Summit in Bishkek
BEIJING. April 19. KAZINFORM The 8th session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) forum kicked off in Beijing Thursday morning (April 18).
Within the framework of the SCO forum, member of the State Council of China Yang Jiechi met with Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev.
"We are hoping that China and Kyrgyzstan in close coordination with other member states can ensure successful carrying out of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Bishkek in 2013," Yang Jiechi said during the meeting.
"The Chinese side attaches great importance to the SCO and will continue to render all-round assistance to the organization," noted new Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi in the course of the meeting with Dmitry Mezentsev, new general secretary of the SCO, in Beijing on April 16.
The SCO is a regional organization founded in 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. As expected, the SCO Summit in Bishkek will be held in the first half of 2013.
