China, Tajikistan sign Treaty on Permanent Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, who is paying a state visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People, Qazinform News Agency cites Xinhua.

Xi congratulated Tajikistan on its 35th anniversary of independence, praising its development achievements. He emphasized that the two nations remain good neighbors, friends, and partners, regardless of external changes.

The two leaders signed the Treaty on Permanent Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, symbolizing high-level political trust and long-term friendship.

Both sides also pledged to expand trade and investment, align development strategies, and strengthen Belt and Road cooperation. Focus areas include green energy, digital economy, smart cities, and AI.

They agreed to intensify law enforcement cooperation and jointly combat terrorism, separatism, and extremism.

The sides also plan to expand people-to-people ties, educational programs, and sub-national cooperation.

The leaders attended the signing ceremony of more than 10 cooperation documents covering agriculture, trade, investment, AI, green mining, media, culture, and education.

As reported earlier, Tajikistan and China signed agreements up to $8 bln.
