China's car industry approaches CU market

BEIJING. December 27. KAZINFORM /Russlan Suleimenov/ According to statistical data of China's General Administration of Customs, for the past 11 months more than 14,000 cars were exported via XUAR check-point.

"The exports made USD 590 mln increasing twofold against the same period of the previous year. China exported 7,000 cars to Kazakhstan this year almost two and a half times the quantity of the previous year, more than 3,000 cars to Russia," Wu Haiyu, secretary-general of the China-Europe Association for Technical and Economic Cooperation told Kazinform.

"Kazakhstan is a large Central Asian market. Besides, Kazakhstan is a member of the newly-created Customs Union. China sees great prospects and opportunities for exportation of China's cars to Central Asia, particular, to Kazakhstan. Next year we plan to hold the first auto exhibition in Kazakhstan and later on to set up joint ventures," he added.

According to Xinhua, China's Geely Holding is interested in building a car assembly plant in Belarus.
