China ready to invest up to USD 1 bln in Kyrgyzstan’s green energy
The National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan and China Energy Engineering Investment discussed cooperation in renewable energy and the development of major investment projects, Qazinform News Agency cites Kabar.
The Chinese side expressed readiness to invest up to 1 billion US dollars in building power plants in Kyrgyzstan with a total capacity of 700 MW, including 500 MW of solar and 200 MW of wind power.
Kyrgyzstan considers renewable energy development a strategic priority, the National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan said in a statement.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop specific areas of cooperation and move forward with investment initiatives at a practical level.
Noteworthy, Kazakhstan’s renewable energy production reached 2.3 billion kWh in the first quarter of 2026, that is 15% more compared to the same period last year.
