China invested over USD 8 bln in Kazakhstan economy - Saudabayev
BEIJING-ASTANA. February 24. KAZINFORM China is one of the largest investors of Kazakhstan economy to date. The volume of investments attracted to our country made USD 8.4 bln. Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign affairs Kanat Saudabayev has said it delivering a speech at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Alongside, the Head of the Kazakh Foreign Office said that since 1992 bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and China had grown more than 25 times and reached USD 17.5 bln in 2008.
"Undoubtedly, the global crisis negatively impacted these indices. However, the results of 2009 and our further joint development plans give us assurance that we will be able to reach our record indices", K. Saudabayev stressed.
The Secretary of State expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for its financial support to the amount of KZT 13.5 bln for realization of important infrastructure projects.
"This step played an important role in successful overcoming of the negative consequences of the global financial crisis by Kazakhstan", the Kazakh FM concluded.
