China calls on foreign students to become envoys of friendship
BEIJING. October 1. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ Chinese authorities call on foreign youth to become envoys of friendship between China and foreign world. Member of the PRC State Council Liu Yandong said it yesterday.
She noted that over 60 years since establishment of the People's Republic of China the country had received about 1 mln 690 thousand foreign students from 190 countries and regions. At present their number in China is 240 thousand.
"Foreign students serve as a link between China and the world and they greatly contribute to development of China-world cooperation in education", she highlighted.
Liu Yandong called on the foreign students to become envoys of friendship between China and other countries and make a contribution to building a harmonious world.
3, 500 Kazakhstani students are studying in China presently under "Bolashak" program. 157 students have been sent to China since 2005.
