China, Afghanistan to enhance anti-terrorism co-op

BEIJING. March 25. KAZINFORM China and Afghanistan undertook to enhance cooperation in meeting the challenges of all forms terrorism, extremism, separatism and organized crime, according to a joint statement issued here Thursday; Kazinform refers to China Daily.

In the statement, which was issued during Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai's visit to China, China commended Afghanistan's efforts in combating terrorism and drug trafficking, while the Afghan side pledged its sustained and staunch support for China in combating the three forces of terrorism, extremism and separatism.

According to the statement, the two countries agreed to deepen cooperation in human resources, and "will intensify exchanges and cooperation between governments and legislatures and at local government level, and promote communication and exchanges between journalists, academics, colleges and enterprises."

The two sides also agreed to strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional organizations and continue their contacts and coordination on the reform of UN Security Council and other important issues; Kazinform cites China Daily.
