Children and their parents from East Kazinform region suffering from radiation invited to Brussels
BRUSSELS. June 24. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Two children and their parents from Urjar district of East Kazinform region who suffered from radiation near the nuclear test site at Semipalatinsk will visit Brussels on the invitation of member of the European Parliament Struan Stevenson. The guests from Kazakhstan will meet with President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek.
According to S. Stevenson, the children suffer serious consequences after being exposed to radiation because their parents lived in the immediate vicinity of the nuclear test site at Semipalatinsk.
'The children will come with their parents. The meeting with President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek is planned to be held within their visit. This invitation demonstrates the view of the President of the European Parliament on the problem of nuclear testing and victims of the tests,' S. Stevenson said.
