Chiefs of Russian,US general staffs focus on missile defense issue

The chief of Russia's General Staff, General of the Army Nikolai Makarov and his US counterpart, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Michael Mullen, have held talks in Moscow to pay considerable attention to missile defense issues, in particular, the plans for creating a third missile defense site in Poland; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass
As he summed up the results of his talks with Admiral Mullen, General Makarov said that they had a ninety-minute discussion of a number of fundamental and important issues related to international and regional security.
At the talks "we paid considerable attention to ABM issues, in particular the creation of a third defense site in Poland and reviewed many of the threats and challenges that emerged literally over the past few years and months, including those in North Korea and the testing of a nuclear device there," Makarov said.
