Chairmanship in OSCE - recognition of Kazakhstan's socio-economic, political achievements - Nur Otan

ASTANA. February 22. KAZINFORM. Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the authoritative international organization OSCE is an international recognition of the country's achievements in socio-economic and political life. First Deputy Chairman of Nur Otan People's Democratic Party Nurlan Nigmatulin has said it at the international conference "Human Dimension of OSCE: General Thematic Priorities in 2010" in Astana today.

He noted that Nur Otan supports all principles and values of the Organization. "The party plans to use the unique opportunity of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE for active promotion of the OSCE standards in the sphere of human dimension in our country", Mr. Nigmatulin noted.

He stressed that Nur Otan favors a broad public dialogue on urgent issues including enhancement of the role of political parties, improvement of election legislation, development of local government, increasing the role of NGOs and institutes of civil society as a whole.

Kazakh Parlaiment deputies, representatives of state bodies, political parties, representatives of the OSCE Center in Astana, international organization and diplomatic missions, scientific institutions, NGOs and experts are taking part in the conference.
