Central Bank of Luxembourg ready to share its experience in Islamic banking development with Kazakhstan
LUXEMBOURG. September 13. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ The Central Bank of Luxembourg is ready to share its experience in regulating the financial activity and development of Islamic banking with Kazakhstan. Kazakh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Luxembourg Yerik Utembayev and Chairman of the Central Bank of Luxembourg Yves Mersch have talked about it at a meeting.
The Chairman of the Bank was got acquainted with our country's antirecessionary measures, owing to which Kazakhstan's economy maintained steady rates and reached the seven percent economic growth.
Noting successful experience of our country on overcoming the world financial crisis, the Ambassador told about establishment of the National Fund.
There was expressed an interest in studying the Luxembourg experience on creation of favorable financial and investment atmosphere and attraction of international financial institutions. The Kazakh diplomat noted that our country is ready to assume the role of an investment and business hub in Central Asia.
"One of the dynamically developing sectors of the world financial system is Islamic banking, and our state may act as a regional platform for location of Islamic financial institutions in the region. The Luxembourg experience in the field of activity of Islamic banks and organization of Islamic financing is interesting for us," Y.Utembayev said.
Yves Mersch noted that "Kazakhstan being a young state strives to make its contribution into strengthening the global financial stability."
The Chairman of the Bank noted that the Central Bank of Luxembourg can share its experience in such fields as regulation of financial activity, Islamic financing and etc.
Y.Utembayev invited him to take part in the Astana Economic Forum and share his opinion on improvement of effectiveness of international financial institutions.
