Central Asian Int'l Food Industry EXPO opened in Almaty
ATY. November 3. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ The 12th Central Asian International Food Industry Exhibition titled "World Food Kazakhstan-2009" has kicked off in Almaty. Simultaneously, the KazUpack exhibition has been opened.
"According to the forecasts of a number of experts, in the crisis the Kazakh agrarian sector is available to become the leading sector of economy. Today the food industry and agriculture of the country are on priority positions", Minister of Industry and Trade Asset Issekeshev noted in his welcome letter.
170 companies from 30 countries represented their production. 28 percent are participants from Kazakhstan. Germany, South Korea and Latvia presented their national stands.
According to the organizers, visits of about 5.000 specialists are expected this year.
The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Almaty akimat (administration), Commerce and Industry Chamber, Union of Poultry Breeders and Kyrgyz Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Processing Industry.
