Central Asian ecologists gather in Almaty for a training
ALMATY. September 1. KAZINFORM /Serik Koibagarov/ - A training of ecologists organized by the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia kicked Tuesday in Almaty. The training is being conducted with financial support of the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment of the Kingdom of Netherlands and the European Commission. Members of public organizations of Central Asia have been invited to the event.
During September 1 - 30 ten young environmental specialists of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will have a training to improve their skills in the field of development and management of environmental projects and acquire theoretic knowledge of major environmental problems and their solutions.
The training program also envisaged a course in leadership and allows to learn about the work of environmental NGOs of Kazakhstan, visit and survey the areas of pilot environmental projects around Almaty. The trainees will also have a chance to elaborate their own project proposals. The best project proposals will be provided grants for their implementation. Upon completion of the training the young ecologists will receive certificates.
