Center for the Study of Interethnic and Interfaith Relations to be established in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. May 16. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Center for the Study of Interethnic and Interfaith Relations will be established at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan. Natalya Kalashnikova, the scientific secretary of the Scientific Expert Council of Kazakhstan's People's Assembly, told Kazinform on Monday.
According to her, the center will conduct fundamental research in the field of interethnic and interfaith relations. One more objective will be the advanced training of civil servants working with ethnic-cultural associations.
At an expanded meeting of the scientific advisory council, which took place on Monday, Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev said that the Center should seriously study the foreign experience in tolerance and interethnic harmony as well as "actively promote Kazakhstan's achievements in this field."
The Secretary of State considers that the scientific council of the People's Assembly and the center should ensure coordination with other scientific and analytical structures to conduct basic and applied research in the field of interethnic relations.
