Caspian States will limit the deployment of military forces in the region
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - FMs of "Caspian Five" will consider Tuesday the draft convention on the Caspian Sea independence from extra-regional states.
The document is to impose restrictions for the third countries on the deployment of military forces in the region, RIA Novosti reported with reference to "Kommersant" newspaper. Today Moscow to host a conference which will be attended by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad-Javad Zarif, Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. Ministers will discuss preparations for the fourth Caspian summit, which will take place this fall in the Russian city of Astrakhan. According to the source, Moscow managed to convince the partners that no extra-regional powers to influence the decisions related to the Caspian Sea region. The round table will negotiate on restrictions for placing military forces in the region by third countries, primarily the United States.
