Caspian Pipeline Consortium increases annual throughput to 67 mln tons

ASTANA. April 29. KAZINFORM This year, after the expansion of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium the volume of oil transportation will grow up to 60-67 million cubic meters per year, Chairman of the Board of JSC "KazMunayGas" Lyazzat Kiinov stated at a briefing of the Central Communications Service on Monday.

According to him, at present, CPC can pump 30-32 million cubic meters of oil a year. After the expansion the annual throughput capacity will increase up to 60-67 million cubic meters, Kazinform refers to the PM's website .

Kiinov also announced that at the Kashagan field it was planned to produce between 1.5 and 3 million tons of oil in 2013.

Speaking about the possibility of transportation of light oil via Kashagan-Karachaganak-Tengiz to China the Chairman noted that work was underway to expand the oil pipeline from western Kazakhstan to China via Atasu. Today, this system has a capacity of 12 million tons, and will be increased to 20 million tons.

At the end of 2012 the consolidated production of oil and gas condensate was 21.4 million tons, the volume of transportation of oil exceeded the plan by 0.5%, gas transportation - by 2.5%, labor productivity - by 11 4%, the volume of bitumen - by 9.4%.

In the first quarter of 2013, the volume of oil and gas condensate production by JSC "KazMunayGas" amounted to 5.6 million tons, or 101% of the plan.
