Canadian flight delayed by suspicious man
OTTAWA. February 25. KAZINFORM A Canada's WestJet flight bound for Toronto was delayed Wednesday for more than four hours due to a man who started behaving suspiciously moments before takeoff in Montreal, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
Authorities at the Montreal Trudeau airport, quoted by local media, said the man was escorted off the plane by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers at 10:15 a.m. local time,
All remaining some 90 passengers were asked to get off the plane and were placed in a closed room to undergo security screening when the police boarded the plane, a 136-seat 737-700 series, with dogs.
Several other flights were delayed around the time of the incident, but no other departures or arrivals were affected.
The WestJet flight eventually took off at 2:42 p.m.
The suspicious passenger was transferred to a police station in Montreal for questioning and was released afterwards with no charges, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.news.xinhuanet.com for full version.
