CA energy ministers discuss harmonization of water-energy balance in entire region
Uzbekistan’s Tashkent hosted another working meeting of ministers of energy of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, Kabar reports.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Dzhurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Water Management of Uzbekistan Shavkat Khamraev, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliev, Minister of Water Management and Irrigation of Kazakhstan Nurzhan Nurzhigitov and Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev, as well as other responsible heads.
In addition, Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Kamal Abbasov participated in the meeting as a guest.
At the meeting, the ministers discussed issues of ensuring the stable operation of the water and energy systems of the countries during the fall-winter period. The schedules of grid operation were also agreed upon.
Within the framework of the event, jointly implemented projects were considered, in particular, the current status of the Kambarata HPP-1 construction project and issues of harmonization of water-energy balance.
In addition, preliminary studies and future plans for the construction of HPP on the Chatkal River in Jalal-Abad Oblast of Kyrgyzstan were discussed with representatives of the CEEC company (China).
At the end, the participants proposed to organize regular meetings of the working groups of the parties and to sign a “road map” for the implementation of projects.
