"We monitor the situation and we hope that buckwheat prices will be reduced," Klepach told journalists. The government does not intend to restrict buckwheat prices, he added.

At the same time, the deputy minister said, "Inflation will not be higher in October than in September and it may be lower. In November inflation will increase."

According to the Economic Development Ministry, in 2010 inflation "will reach about 8 percent".

Despite the fact that inflation has speeded up in recent months and the rise in consumer prices can exceed 8 percent, the ministry "is not going to revise its forecast. I believe that we'll get through", Klepach said.

He hopes that the parameters for 2011 inflation will remain unchanged.

Russia's Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) opened 123 cases following a monitoring of prices of staple foodstuffs; Kazinform cites ITAR-TASS.
